Quote of the Lesson (दिन के उद्धरण)

“We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action.”

    “हमें यह शिक्षा दी जानी चाहिए कि हमें किसी कार्य को करने के लिए प्रेरणा की प्रतीक्षा नहीं करनी चाहिए। कर्म करने से हमेशा प्रेरणा का जन्म होता है। प्रेरणा से शायद ही कर्म की उत्पत्ति होती हो।”

“Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.”

    “मानव अपनी सोच की आंतरिक प्रवृति को बदलकर अपने जीवन के बाह्य पहलूओं को बदल सकता है।”

“When we accept tough jobs as a challenge and wade into them with joy and enthusiasm, miracles can happen.”

    “जब हम कठिन कार्यों को चुनौती के रुप में स्वीकार करते हैं और उन्हें खुशी और उत्साह से निष्पादित करते हैं, तो चमत्कार हो सकते हैं।”

“Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

    “हमारी महानतम विशालता कभी भी न गिरने में नहीं अपितु हर बार गिरने पर फिर उठने में निहित होती है।”

“If you believe you can, you probably can. If you believe you won't, you most assuredly won't. Belief is the ignition switch that gets you off the launching pad.”

    “यदि आप यह मानते हैं कि आप कर सकते हैं, तो संभवतः आप कर सकते हैं। यदि यह सोचते हैं कि आप नहीं कर सकते, तो आप सुनिश्चित रुप से नहीं कर सकते। विश्वास वह स्विच है जो आपको आगे बढ़ाता है।”

Technical word (तकनीकी शब्द)

marcom (or marcomm)
Marcom (sometimes spelled "marcomm") is an abbreviation for "marketing communications." Marcom is targeted interaction with customers and prospects using one or more media, such as direct mail, newspapers and magazines, television, radio, billboards, telemarketing, and the Internet. A marketing communications campaign may use a single approach, but more frequently combines several.

mask
In graphic design, a mask is a tool that allows you to protect a specific area of an image from modification. Conversely, an inverse mask allows anything outside the mask to be modified by the application of an effect.

master
A master, in a technological context, is a device that controls one or more other devices. In networking, for example, a master/slave configuration is a communications model in which one device or process (known as the master) controls one or more other devices or processes (known as slaves).

masthead
On the Internet, a masthead is a graphic image or text title at the top of a Web page that identifies the Web site and, sometimes, the particular section of the site. In addition to the name of the Web site, a masthead could include other elements such as images, text, or navigational links. The Web site masthead was named after a similar feature of newspapers and magazines, which in turn got its name from the top of a mast on a ship.

Nanofabrication
Nanofabrication is the design and manufacture of devices with dimensions measured in nanometers. One nanometer is 10 -9 meter, or a millionth of a millimeter. Nanofabrication is of interest to computer engineers because it opens the door to super-high-density microprocessor s and memory chip s. It has been suggested that each data bit could be stored in a single atom . Carrying this further, a single atom might even be able to represent a byte or word of data. Nanofabrication has also caught the attention of the medical industry, the military, and the aerospace industry.

NAHIT
The National Alliance for Health Information Technology, or NAHIT, was formed in 2002 in an effort to promote the use of health IT. Its members consisted of health care providers, payers, pharmaceutical companies and other industry organizations. The group ceased operations on Sept. 30, 2009.

Nanogenerator
A nanogenerator is a nanoscale (extremely small) device capable of generating electric current , electromagnetic field s or subatomic particle radiation. Several prototype s have been developed that hold promise for use in various fields of nanotechnology .

Nanolithography
Nanolithography is the art and science of etching, writing, or printing at the microscopic level, where the dimensions of characters are on the order of nanometers (units of 10 -9 meter, or millionths of a millimeter). This includes various methods of modifying semiconductor chips at the atom ic level for the purpose of fabricating integrated circuits ( IC s). Researchers at Georgia Institute of Technology are working on a nanogenerator prototype that uses microscopic wires to generate electricity when they vibrate. The currents arise in zinc-oxide nanowire s as a result of the piezoelectric effect, which is similar to the phenomenon that causes quartz crystals to produce tiny currents when subjected to mechanical stress. The design is in the research-and-development phase. Engineers hope that a working electric nanogenerator will be available by 2010 or 2011.

Nanoanalysis
Nanoanalysis refers to techniques for determining the atomic structures of materials, especially crystals. The technology is similar to that used for microanalysis, except it is done on a nanometer scale. (One nanometer is 10 -9 meter, or a millionth of a millimeter.)

NCSA
(National Center for Supercomputing Applications) - One of the five original centers in the Supercomputer Centers Program and a unit of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It was founded in 1986, and is responsible for developing Mosaic, the web browser responsible for launching the multibillion dollar dot-com explosion.

NAND flash memory
NAND flash memory is a type of non-volatile storage technology that does not require power to retain data.

An important goal of NAND flash development has been to reduce the cost per bit and increase maximum chip capacity so that flash memory can compete with magnetic storage devices like hard disks. NAND flash has found a market in devices to which large files are frequently uploaded and replaced. MP3 players, digital cameras and USB drives use NAND flash.

Netiquette
The desired mode of manners and conduct for the Internet.

Namespace
In general, a namespace uniquely identifies a set of names so that there is no ambiguity when objects having different origins but the same names are mixed together. Using the Extensible Markup Language (XML), an XML namespace is a collection of element type and attribute names. These element types and attribute names are uniquely identified by the name of the unique XML namespace of which they are a part. In an XML document, any element type or attribute name can thus have a two-part name consisting of the name of its namespace and then its local (functional) name.

Nagle s algorithm
Named for its creator, John Nagle, the Nagle algorithm is used to automatically concatenate a number of small buffer messages; this process (called nagling) increases the efficiency of a network application system by decreasing the number of packets that must be sent. Nagle's algorithm, defined in 1984 as Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation Congestion Control in IP/TCP Internetworks (IETF RFC 896) was originally designed to relieve congestion for a private TCP/IP network operated by Ford, but has since been broadly deployed.

Named pipe
In computer programming, a named pipe is a method for passing information from one computer process to other processes using a pipe or message holding place that is given a specific name. Unlike a regular pipe, a named pipe can be used by processes that do not have to share a common process origin and the message sent to the named pipe can be read by any authorized process that knows the name of the named pipe.

A named pipe is sometimes called a "FIFO" (first in, first out) because the first data written to the pipe is the first data that is read from it.

Nanochip
A nanochip is an integrated circuit ( IC ) that is so small, in physical terms, that individual particles of matter play major roles. Miniaturization of electronic and computer components has always been a primary goal of engineers. The smaller an electronic system can be made, the more processing power can fit into a given physical volume, the less energy is required to run it, and the faster it can work (because distances among components are reduced, minimizing charge-carrier transit time).

Netizen
A term referring to a citizen of the Internet, or someone who uses networked resources. The term connotes civic responsibility and participation.

National Automated Clearing House Association
The National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) is a not-for-profit trade association that develops operating rules and business practices for the nationwide network of automated clearing houses (ACHs) and for other areas of electronic payments. NACHA manages the development, administration, and governance of the ACH Network and is the national association responsible for ACH payments.

Nanocomputer
A nanocomputer is a computer whose physical dimensions are microscopic. The field of nanocomputing is part of the emerging field of nanotechnology . Several types of nanocomputers have been suggested or proposed by researchers and futurists.

Netscape
web browser created by Netscape Communications Corporation. The Netscape browser was originally based on the Mosaic program developed at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). It provided major improvements in speed and interface over other browsers, but also engendered debate by being the first to create browser-specific elements for HTML.

With the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, or HITECH Act, calling for the widespread adoption of electronic health record (EHR) technology, many patients and their families are concerned that electronic information is more susceptible to a data breach than traditional paper-based files. The OCR helps organizations teach health and social service workers about the civil rights, health information privacy and patient confidentiality laws that they, as medical professionals, must follow.

Hear Listen

To any layman, ‘hearing’ and ‘listening’ may appear to be one and the same thing, but there is a subtle difference between the two words.

At one level, they are of course both functions of the ear that involve receiving sounds and processing them. However, herein lies the difference: any sound that is received by the ear and noted by the brain can be said to have been ‘heard’; it is only when a conscious effort is made to hear something that ‘listening’ comes into play.

For example, if the sounds from a conversation carry to you, but you make no effort to understand what is being said, you must say that you ‘heard’ the conversation. On the other hand, as soon as you make a conscious effort to understand or pay attention to what you are hearing, you are ‘listening’. Therefore, we do not ‘hear’ songs, we ‘listen’ to them (unless, of course, they are simply part of the background and we aren’t actually paying attention to them).

It must be noted that ‘hear’ can be used in place of ‘listen’ sometimes, but ‘listen’ should not be used in place of ‘hear’. For example, you may tell someone that you heard what he or she said, and it is understood that you were listening, ie, paying attention. You will learn these variations with practice in conversation.

English Improving ,Tips of the Lesson (अंग्रेजी में सुधार, दिन की टिप्स)

Sentence Variety and How to Achieve It

Sentence variety is important because it greatly improves readability. An essay, article, or story with sentences that have similar structures sounds robotic and unnatural. One goal is for your readers to notice your argument or main idea without the lack of sentence variety jamming the sentences up. Sentence structures that repeat too much are jarring. Here are a few tips to help create sentence variety.

Write First

If you are not naturally aware of sentence variety in your writing, do not worry about it when you are composing your essay, article, or story. Just write at first. Get your thoughts and arguments down. Work on the structure of your piece, and make sure it supports your argument. As you get more experience, you will naturally be aware of sentence variety while you are writing.

Scan for Repeats

Now that you have your essay, article, or story finished, scan it for repeat words. Look especially at the first words of each sentence. The first words alone won't indicate repeated sentence structures, but it is a fine start. Pick out overused beginning words or phrases like "however," "unlike," "finally," and "In fact." This is just a short list of examples. Use these sentence openers sparingly. Certainly, if these words or phrases repeat one after another, one of the sentences must be rewritten. If the sentences are in the same paragraph or in adjacent paragraphs, change one of the sentences. In the context of your entire piece of writing, spread the sentence openers out and use the terms only when it is the best choice.

Do a Focused Search

If you feel you have overused a word, do a focused search. Use the "find" feature in your word processor and type in the word or phrase you think you have used too often. Not all of the repeats need to go. Decide which sentences benefit the most from these words. Spread the uses out so that your reader does not experience deja vu while reading your article, essay, or story.

To refine your writing even further, go back and scan for repeated words. Make a list and use the focused search to decide which sentences you need to edit for greater variety.
